Friday

Hmm. Any good signs today? Not really. But a friend just bought a Class A motorhome when he was going in to get a drawer for his older home. Then his wife went off and bought the Class A. Cool.
Then I see that the world's fastest (and expensive) car goes on sale. $3.5 Million for a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 16 cylinder supercar. 1001 horsepower and top speed of 254 mph. Good grief. You can keep that coffin.
Come on lucky numbers.

Not This Time

Well, believe it or not, I didn't win the lottery. My Jewish lucky numbers (signs) weren't enought to overcome the randomness of the falling balls this time. The good news is the lucky numbers weren't lucky for anyone, so the jackpot is gonna be larger on Friday. Woo-hoo. Truth is, I was really not lucky at all Tuesday. My dog pooped on the carpet in the night and then woke me to let her outside. Damage was done and I had to get up at 5 am. Not lucky at all.

The Number 18

A few weeks ago I was reading a Jewish blog Yo, Yenta and the blogger pointed out the significance of the number 18 in the Jewish world. She was actually talking about the number 36, which is Double 18 or double chai. Honestly, I had no idea there were Jewish Lucky Numbers of any kind. Well, 18 is one of my favorite numbers and it came up on Friday for the Mega number (and one of the white ones - thus my $10 payout). So, I'm playing them again (heck, they're just as likely to come up again as not) but with a twist. The jackpot is $118 Million this time. See - 18 is in there. That's a sign.
From About.Com Number 18
Question: What is the significance of the number 18 in Judaism?

Answer: The word for "life" in Hebrew is "chai." The two Hebrew letters that make up the word "chai" are chet and yud. In Gematria (the numerical value of Hebrew letters), chai is equivalent to 8 and yud is equivalent to 10. So "chai", chet and yud together, equals 18. Giving money in multiples of $18 is symbolic of giving "chai" or life. Many people give money in mulitiples of $18 as presents to someone celebrating a birth, a bar or bat mitzvah or a wedding.

Tomorrow Could Be the Day

MegaMillions has surpassed the magic threshold of $100 Million so it's time to play. Friday, my numbers matched 2 and the Mega Number, giving me a payout of $10. That's $7 more than I put in. Best of all, it gives me "free" money to play with for tomorrow! If I spend $7 on parking and $3 for tickets, it should work out perfectly and Wednesday will be a celebration day. Just got to pack up my "A" game to take to the lottery store and get that winner! Woo-Hoo. I love the signs.
